Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Moon5050 — the trustless Web3 50/50 raffle dApp on Base. Create, buy tickets, share, and win with ETH, USDC, or GLMR.
General
What is Moon5050?
Moon5050 is a trustless Web3 50/50 raffle dApp live on Base Mainnet. Anyone can create a raffle or buy tickets using ETH, USDC, or GLMR. When a raffle ends, the prize pool splits automatically — 50% to one randomly drawn winner and 50% to the raffle creator.
What network does Moon5050 run on?
Moon5050 runs on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 (chain ID 8453). Base provides fast confirmations and very low gas fees, while every transaction is ultimately secured by Ethereum.
Who created Moon5050?
Moon5050 is created by BIT5050 Inc. The platform runs on an immutable, ownerless smart contract, so while BIT5050 Inc. built the dApp, no one — including the team — can control or interfere with raffles, draws, or payouts.
Who controls Moon5050?
No one. Moon5050 is powered by an immutable, ownerless smart contract on Base (0x5B0153413d715F0caBAda76A589A7B864b2D089b). There are no admin keys, no keepers, and no way for anyone — including BIT5050 Inc. — to interfere with ticket sales, winner selection, or payouts.
Is Moon5050 free to use?
Browsing raffles is free. Creating a raffle costs a small creation fee (0.01 ETH, 20 USDC, or 1,000 GLMR) and tickets cost 0.0025 ETH, 5 USDC, or 100 GLMR each. You also need a few cents of ETH on Base for gas.
Creating a raffle
How do I create a raffle?
Connect any Ethereum wallet on Base, open the Create page, set a raffle name plus start and end times, choose your payment token, and confirm the transaction. Your raffle is live on-chain immediately and gets a unique shareable link.
How much does it cost to create a raffle?
The creation fee is 0.01 ETH, 20 USDC + 0.0001 ETH, or 1,000 GLMR + 0.0001 ETH depending on your chosen payment token. Part of the fee self-funds your raffle's verifiable random draw and automated settlement, so no keeper or admin is ever needed.
What do I earn as a raffle creator?
Creators receive 50% of the total prize pool automatically when the raffle settles — the other 50% goes to the winner. Payouts are handled entirely by the smart contract.
Why must my raffle start at least 2 minutes in the future?
The contract requires a small buffer so the transaction can be mined and validated on-chain before the raffle starts. This prevents timing errors and guarantees your raffle is processed correctly.
Buying tickets
How much does a ticket cost?
Tickets are priced in the raffle's payment token: 0.0025 ETH, 5 USDC, or 100 GLMR per ticket.
Is there a limit on how many tickets I can buy?
No. You can buy as many tickets as you like — each ticket is another entry in the draw and grows the prize pool.
Which wallets work with Moon5050?
Any standard Ethereum wallet connected to Base works — MetaMask, Coinbase (Base) Wallet, Phantom, Trust Wallet, and others supported by the in-app wallet connector.
Fairness & payouts
How is the winner chosen?
RANDPROOF Network provides winner selection for every raffle. When a raffle ends, the winner is drawn by RandProofRNG — verifiable, drand-anchored randomness proven on-chain. Every draw is decentralized and independently verifiable; no hidden selection and no human in the loop.
When and how are prizes paid?
RANDPROOF Network also provides automatic settlement for each raffle via RandProofAutomation. As soon as the verified draw completes, the contract pays 50% of the pool to the winner and 50% to the creator in the raffle's payment token — instantly and on-chain.
Can anyone tamper with the raffle or the draw?
No. The contract is immutable and ownerless, and each raffle's creation fee pre-funds its own randomness request and automated settlement. There is no admin, no keeper, and no trusted party who can influence the outcome.
What happens if a raffle ends with no tickets sold?
Raffles that end with zero tickets are automatically closed by RandProofAutomation — no draw is needed, and since no tickets were sold there is nothing to refund.
What happens if a draw cannot complete?
If a randomness request is ever left unfulfilled, anyone can permissionlessly trigger retryFinalize — it cancels the stalled request and re-issues it with the same drand round pinned, so the outcome cannot change. Ticket funds stay locked in the contract until the verified draw settles; because the contract is ownerless, the pool can only ever pay out 50% to the winner and 50% to the creator.
